BPF continues its 2023 performance season with the staged production of The Interrogator by writer/filmmaker/anthropologist Russell Sharman at the Eubie Blake Cultural Center.
Directed by Andre Tittle, The Interrogator takes us to the summer of 1944, when Jacob Kohn, a US Army interrogation officer (and German Jewish refugee) must contend with a high-ranking SS officer and a decorated U-boat commander in a battle of wits that could change the course of history.
Based in part on the surviving transcripts of actual interrogations, The Interrogator reveals the incredible true story of the joint Army-Navy program that used Jewish immigrant officers to extract strategic intelligence from German captives in a top-secret POW camp hidden in plain view just outside Washington D.C.
Developed as part of the Arkansas New Play Festival at Theatre Squared, The Interrogator was a semi-finalist for the 2021 O’Neill National Playwrights Conference.
