BPF will continue its Season 44 performance schedule with a staged reading of Merryborough by playwright Jacob Zack. BPF Vice Chair Miriam Bazenski directs this absurdist comedy.
Merryborough was a quiet town. The City Council had never dealt with anything more serious than administrative issues: noise complaints, landscape questions, zoning matters. Until now. With crime on the rise and mysterious neighbors incoming, the Council must adjust. Local bureaucracy takes a worrisome shape as dark forces threaten the town. Ready or not, change is coming to Merryborough.
The cast includes:
Erica – Jennifer Mikulski
Rachel – Janise Whelan
Carl – Jim Hart
Bill – Timoth David Copney
Steve – Dan Collins
The performance will be generously hosted at the Eubie Blake National Jazz and Cultural Center, 847 N. Howard St, Baltimore, MD 21201 on Saturday, March 15 at 1:30 p.m.
A discussion will follow the reading and all audience members are invited to participate.
As always, BPF staged reading performances are free and we encourage everyone to attend and bring a friend to view the next of eleven staged readings that will take place during the BPF’s Season 44.
