BPF will open its 2023 performance season with a staged reading of Dispatched by playwright Elliott Kashner. Directed by Megan Behm, Dispatched tells the story of Charlotte, an emergency dispatcher, who has found herself alone in a call center after her replacements fail to turn up. Desperation turns to terror as the calls to 9-1-1 become increasingly strange throughout the night, and it becomes clear that some unfathomable horror is befalling the town.
The cast includes:
Charlotte: Carolyn Myers Kashner
Judd: Jose Guzman
Carol / Young Woman / Old Woman: Gabby Rene Wolfe
Lucas / Fire Dispatch: Jordan Brown
Dude / Man: Matthew Shea
The performance will be generously hosted at the Eubie Blake National Jazz and Cultural Center, 847 N. Howard St, Baltimore, MD 21201 on Saturday, March 16 at 1 p.m.
A discussion will follow the reading and all audience members are invited to participate.
As always, BPF staged reading performances are free and we encourage everyone to attend and bring a friend to view the first of eleven staged readings that will take place through Thursday, May 16, 2024.
