BPF will continue its Season 45 performance schedule with a staged reading of Declaration,written by Stephen LaRocque. LaRocque is a prolific actor, writer, director and retired Navy Officer who once put on a skit while serving on a submarine. He was at the Pentagon on 9/11, and has had one of his plays running continuously for thirteen years. His third Baltimore Playwrights Festival submission, Declaration, is directed by BPF’s own Miriam Bazensky.
Declaration is an historical drama set in Baltimore during the winter of 1776-77, when the Continental Congress adjourned there from Philadelphia to avoid the British Army. Charles Thomson, Secretary of the Congress, commissions Mary Katharine Goddard, a Baltimore printer and newspaper publisher, to produce the first public version of the Declaration of Independence with the names of the signers.

The performance will be hosted at The Club Car Baltimore, 12 West North Avenue, Baltimore 21201on Saturday, February 28 at 11 a.m..
A discussion will follow the reading, and all audience members are invited to participate.
As always, BPF staged reading performances are free and we encourage everyone to attend and bring a friend to view any or all of the twelve staged readings that will take place during the BPF’s Season 45.
