Free Fall Baltimore

Baltimore Playwrights Festival is participating in Free Fall Baltimore with Making a Scene, Scenes from New Plays. Engaging scenes from new plays by area playwrights will be presented by directors and actors in a book-in-hand staged reading format. You will meet a man and a woman who fall in love just when Daylight Savings Time turns back time; witness a psychologist, an angry husband and an unexpected twist; understand why two sisters never agree on anything, including the mother they just buried; and empathize with a young doctor working on the first artificial heart while confronting the parameters of humanness. Scenes selected for this presentation are:

  • Call Me Joe by Danae Henry
  • Daylight Saving Time by Stephen LaRocque
  • Jochebed Gives Moses a Pep Talk by Helen Cheng Mao
  • Kinda Human by Anne Valentino
  • People Should Talk About What’s Real by Allie Hartley-Kong
  • Privileges by Kevin M. Schaeffer
  • Sanctity by Kerr Lockhart
  • This World We Are In by Sharon Goldner

The readings will be rehearsed, have movement, lighting, props and some costuming. For your safety, all patrons will be required to show proof of full vaccination or a negative PCR test within 72 hours to gain entry. Masking is required while inside.  Free ticket reservations are required. Use this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/making-a-scene-scenes-from-new-plays-tickets-411507238227
