On March 1st, Baltimore Playwrights Festival will begin accepting submissions of original plays from playwrights in the Maryland and Washington DC areas for its 46th performance season.
We accept 50 plays for consideration. All plays accepted for consideration receive written feedback. The 10 plays that receive the highest evaluations from our readers will be given staged readings that are open to the public.
The submissions period runs from Sunday, March 1st until Thursday, April 30th or until 50 plays are received, so please submit early.

Baltimore Playwrights Festival has produced under its umbrella 318 new plays written by over 200 different playwrights that were produced by 28 different theater companies.
We can’t guess the number of theater artists that have been involved as actors, directors, stage managers, lighting designers, set designers and other creatives.
We are grateful for the support of our local theater companies, our donors and Mayor Brandon Scott and the City of Baltimore, Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts, Creative Baltimore Fund.
