Ah, it’s now October. The leaves have started turning and the weather is more reasonable. We at Baltimore Playwrights Festival are looking forward to sharing our 45th presentation season with you.
As an appetizer we offer you Fall Sampler 2025 – Crossroads: Scenes from New Plays – an exciting night of theater works from local playwrights to you, our community, for the best price – free!
What do we have for your viewing pleasure? You will experience the thrill of seeing new works by area playwrights in eight well-crafted excerpts from their submissions to the BPF.
This year our participating playwrights and their submissions are:
The World’s Last Great Tuba Player by Mark Berman, directed by Darren McGregor
Niu York, New York by Bohdan Dowhaluk, directed by Timoth David Copney
43 Deep Green Lane by Peter Levy, directed by Shelbi Nelson
Who Needs A Playwright? by Helen Cheng Mao, directed by Shelbi Nelson
Hooked: The Sober House for Men by Susan Middaugh, directed by Miriam Bazensky
Personal Effects by Mark Scharf, directed by Miriam Bazensky
Royal Lube by Adam Schwartz, directed by Darren McGregor
Who’s Yehoodi? by Jerry Slaff, directed by Timoth David Copney
These engaging scenes will be presented by directors and actors in a book-in- hand staged reading format, with some movement, lighting, props and costuming. You will have a chance to meet the playwrights and actors.
