The submission period for this year is officially closed. Thank you to all the talented creatives who submitted entries to us. We don’t take any of you for granted and are, as ever, so grateful for your support and interest. We can’t wait to get started reading your work! Keep writing and keep the faith!
The Baltimore Playwrights Festival is looking for directors and actors to participate in readings of the submissions for our delayed 40th season slate of exceptionally well-evaluated plays. The readings will take place approximately from May 15th to June 15th, typically involve just a couple of rehearsals, and will be virtual for the most part, though we are looking into safe venues to perform small cast plays live. Interested? Great! POC AND FEMALE IDENTIFYING PERSONS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY! Email [email protected] for more info. ALL POSITIONS UNPAID.

We’d love to have your submissions for the Baltimore Playwright Festival Season 41! Let us help you bring your stories alive. Although COVID-19 has prevented us from presenting public readings of submitted plays as we normally would be doing during the fall and winter months, we remain committed to our mission of nurturing and supporting local playwrights. To that end, we invite you to browse our new series, Five Minutes with the Playwright, featuring BPF playwrights and their work.
