Great way to spend a Saturday! The Baltimore Playwrights Festival is presenting two readings, beginning at 11:00am tomorrow, March 5th, at Spotlighters Theatre.
11 a.m. The United States v. Susan B. Anthony by Stephen LaRoque, directed by Miriam Bazensky
United States v. Susan B. Anthony tells how suffragist Susan B. Anthony successfully registered and
voted in the 1872 Presidential election; how she was indicted, arrested, tried, convicted, and sentenced for voting illegally ā and what happened to her after that.
1 p.m. A Lovely Light by Hannah Land , directed by Jenna Buzard
Based on true events, A Lovely Light introduces audiences to the queer, disabled poet whose writing still captures readers a century later. Join Edna St. Vincent Millay as she journeys to Paris in 1921, struggles with illness and heartbreak, and learns how to accept helpāand a second chance at love.
