Consent by Glennyce Lynn ♦ original public play reading Saturday, November 18 at Spotlighters Theatre, noon

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival is pleased to announce the first public play reading of our 37th Season. Consent, written by Glennyce Lynn and directed by George Andre Title, will be read this Saturday, November 18, 2017, at The Audrey Herman Spotlighters Theatre at 12 pm, 817 St Paul St, Baltimore, MD 21202. Metered street parking and parking lots are available nearby. This free reading will be followed by a talkback.

In a near, yet very changed, future, where civilians volunteer to undergo traumatic medical testing in exchange for “favors” from the government, two doctors find themselves on lockdown with their belligerent patient, and are forced to confront the very nature of their work:
– Does the given consent absolve them of the horrors of their work?
– Is informed consent still consent if all you’ve done is make it impossible to say “no?

Hope to see you on Saturday!
